Our annual French Exchange sees a group of St. Fintan’s students visit with students from Lycée de la Côtière
Now an established feature of the Transition Year programme in St. Fintan’s, our annual French Exchange sees a group of St. Fintan’s students visit with students from Lycée de la Côtière – and vice versa. Along with last year’s French Exchange a group of St. Fintan’s Spanish students took part in a trip to Barcelona. Below are two students’ accounts of the trips.
Spanish Trip
This year, 22 TYs from St. Fintan’s took part in a French Exchange with Lycée de la Côtière, La Boisse, France.
The French Students came to our school from the 17th to the 22nd of January 2018. During their stay they did many activities such as Irish Dancing, visiting the city centre and lots of shopping!
When their trip was finished, the French students had to wait another 4 months to see their Irish ‘corréspondents’ . The TYs made their way over to Lyon on the 1st of May. The weather was a lot more sunny than when the French Students were here. The TYs attended French classes in France and did loads of activities.
Spanish Trip
This year, a few TYs went to Barcelona, Spain with Mr. Sam and Ms. Brazil for 4 days, from the 27th to 30th of March. Dylan Evenden of TS, details the itinerary of the trip below:
On Day 1, the TYs did a walk around the whole town of Barcelona. This took the entire day. Once the tour was finished they went back to their Hostel they were staying in called BCN Sports Hostel.
On Day 2, the TYs did a tour of the infamous Park Guell, which was very interesting. As it was a sunny day, the lads went to the beach for the rest of the day.
On Day 3, the lads went to PortAventura Theme Park for the entire day and went on some of the biggest rollercoasters in Europe.
On the last day, the lads just spent the day shopping in the town.
