Junior Division 1 Tennis

Well done to the Junior Tennis Team who reached the final of the Leinster School Boy’s Tennis Tournament! They played Gonzaga College in the final at Templeogue Tennis Club. It was a 3-2 loss for the team, however the students played highly competitive tennis and had a great day out in the sunshine. The team did very well in their group stage matches, defeating schools such as St. Andrew’s College, St. Michael’s College and Blackrock College. They also met with Belvedere College and Gonzaga College and had very challenging matches against those schools.  Ciarán McKenna and Matthew Hickey secured points for the team in the singles event on Finals day and everyone else played really well showing great resilience and determination. We wish our 3rd Year tennis players the very best of luck in their Junior Cycle Exams and we hope to see them out playing tennis during the summer! Team: Ciarán McKenna, Matthew Hickey, Gavin Murphy, Liam Iaccarino, Gerry Loughney, Advik Ajay, Charlie Bredican and Michael Patton.

Goodbye Class of 2024!

It’s been an action packed few days for our Graduating Class 0f 2024! First they won the Senior Dublin Hurling Final last Thursday! Congrats to All! On Friday, their last day of school, the students took on the teachers in the annual Students V. Teachers Football Match. After enjoying pizza in the sun on Friday afternoon, some very competitive playing ensued but the 6th Years were triumphant in the end! However, with all in good spirits, the teachers gave the students a celebratory guard of honour as they left the school gates for the last time as St. Fintan’s Students! Their sadness was lessened a little with an ice-cream truck parked outside for refreshments after the game! Last night, we had a fabulous Graduation Ceremony celebrating all of the many achievements of this 6th Year Group. We are sad to see them go and we will miss them. Best wishes lads in the Leaving Certificate and in all of your endeavours beyond St. Fintan’s High School.
