The Road Safety Module aims to develop TY student awareness of road safety and to help them understand the process to applying for the permit license. The emphasis of this module is to explore the rules of the road, together with respect for other road users and responsibility in decision making.

The Transition Year students will explore the rules of the road as a pedestrian, cyclist and driver. They will also examine the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse in relation to road traffic incidents.

Throughout the year, a number of different talks and campaigns will take place. A Garda from Swords will come speak to the year group as well as our local Road Safety Promotion Officer Barry Andersonwill host an online event to talk about the role of the RSA.
