Hundreds of thousands of students from all over the world take part in Model UN every year across all educational levels. Many current world leaders in law, government, business and the arts – even the UN itself – participated in Model UN as students. 

St Fintan’s first involvement in Model UN was in March 2021 and the event was hosted exclusively online by UCC during lockdown. At present St Fintan’s caters for Senior Cycle students and meetings take place at lunchtime in John’s 1. Any Senior Cycle students are welcome to join.

The main goals are to have fun, learn about world issues and current affairs, gain confidence in public speaking and meet new people all in the name of international diplomacy. We are hopeful that this year in-person events will take place once more.
