Computer Programming

This is an introductory module to computer programming. In this module, the students are introduced to computer programming using the programming language Python. 

Python is a popular and widely used programming language. It is a general purpose language which means that it is suitable for writing software to solve many different kinds of problems.

Python is ideal for people who are learning to code for the first time because it:

  • is very concise.

  • can be used on many different types of computer.

  • comes with an excellent library of tools to help the user write code.

The students learn about:

  • Python essentials

  • Printing

  • Comments

  • Variables

  • Inputs

  • Conditional (if statements)

Students are required to set up their own accounts using replit.com. The benefit of this is that they can save their computer programs and work on course content at home.

Students submit their programs via Google Classroom.
